Data Scientist (Credit Risk)

The role of a Data Scientist involves working with the Risk team to drive business-critical initiatives. This includes uplifting our credit risk strategy and management, as well as credit decisioning capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive continuous improvement and optimization of strategies for credit limit allocation
  • Implement behavioral models to provide optimal decisioning outcomes in line with risk appetite
  • Improve and maintain automated decisioning for credit limit applications
  • Create and enhance rules to optimize approval rates and limit provision
  • Implement rules on the decisioning platform, test and monitor as required

Requirements include:

  • Experience from a retail banking/consumer finance environment, specifically in Credit Risk
  • Strong exposure to analytical scripting languages, particularly SQL, and either Python, R or SAS
  • Experience in developing analytical dashboards using business intelligence tools, such as Tableau
  • A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow
  • An aptitude for identifying and managing risks
