Approvals Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Approvals Specialist to coordinate environmental, mining, heritage, and tenure regulatory approvals with external contractors for major projects.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate environmental, mining, heritage, and tenure regulatory approvals with external contractors in accordance with project schedules.
  • Work closely with project, site, and functional teams during study phases to develop approval pathways and scoping requirements.
  • Maintain the approvals register for the Major Projects portfolio, review documentation, and communicate risks and delays to the Lead.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with approval requirements during project execution, including conducting audits and inspections against management plans.
  • Develop reports on compliance for contractor management and government departments.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Law, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Western Australian and Commonwealth approvals legislation and policies.
  • Understanding of project and engineering documentation and ability to interpret into approvals documentation.
  • Ability to work with contractors and conduct site-based inspections and audits.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ability to communicate and develop relationships with contractors, managers, and operational teams.

Experience:

  • Approximately five years' experience in a similar role in the mining and/or processing industries.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of approvals legislation related to the mining and/or processing industries.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
