Key Responsibilities

  • Guarantee adherence to health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Supervise staff and contractors to optimize operations.
  • Oversee production planning, maintenance and site enhancement initiatives.
  • Ensure quarry operations are compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of excellence by training personnel and contractors on their roles and responsibilities.
  • Maintain daily operations in line with established SHE protocols.
  • Promote safety improvements through active participation in Safety Improvement Team meetings and encouraging contractor engagement.
  • Conduct daily pre-start meetings with team members.

About the Role:

  • A Quarry Managers Certificate or equivalent experience is required.
  • Strong leadership skills in safety management systems, legislation and regulations are essential.
  • Experience in quarry operations is necessary.
  • Understanding of drill and blast and quarry development processes is required.
  • Practical experience with mobile crushing and screening equipment is beneficial.
  • Budgeting, cost analysis and financial management expertise are valuable assets.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment to drive productivity and cost improvements is crucial.
  • A customer-focused approach and strong communication skills are essential for success.
