About the Role

Rosebank College Five Dock is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Visual Arts Educator to join our Creative and Performing Arts Department (CAPA) in a full-time permanent ongoing position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Visual Arts in Years 7 to 12, with the ability to teach digital photography, film, and animation. The Visual Arts Educator will collaborate within the CAPA department and across all year groups, undertaking responsibilities within the team as required by the CAPA Coordinator.

The College offers excellent support to all teachers to enable them to develop on their professional journey through professional development. All staff are required to be involved in the pastoral care of our students, demonstrate a commitment to the ideals and ethos of Catholic Education, and be willing to participate in extracurricular programs.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding educator who is highly motivated to support Rosebank College to ensure continued academic achievement, by inspiring and developing innovative learning which engages, and values every learner. It is an expectation that all staff support the vision and goals of the College as a learning community and contribute to all aspects of College life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Visual Arts in Years 7 to 12, with the ability to teach digital photography, film, and animation.
  • Collaborate within the CAPA department and across all year groups, undertaking responsibilities within the team as required by the CAPA Coordinator.
  • Develop and implement engaging and innovative learning programs that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess and provide feedback to students on their learning progress.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay up-to-date with curriculum developments.
  • Contribute to the pastoral care of students and demonstrate a commitment to the ideals and ethos of Catholic Education.
  • Participate in extracurricular programs and activities that promote the College's values and mission.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate experience in Visual Arts – Photo media, Time-Based Forms, Graphic Design, Digital Technologies, and Material Technologies.
  • Demonstrate experience in teaching Photography and Digital Media, including an understanding of programs within the Adobe Suite such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, competence, and confidence in Stages 4, 5 & 6 Arts courses.
  • A commitment to academic excellence and demonstrated knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practices that encourages academic excellence.
  • Commitment to continual improvement and effective use of data to differentiate the curriculum and address the learning needs of all students.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the current curriculum and NESA requirements for Visual Arts.
  • Ability to successfully integrate technology into everyday learning and planning.
  • Interpersonal skills with parents, students, and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team.
  • Possess a valid Working with Children Check.
  • A commitment to the child safeguarding principles.
  • Willingness to support the Catholic ethos and learning culture of the College.
  • Current NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.
  • Supporting the College Pastoral Program, including being responsible for a Home Room.
