About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Drama and Performing Arts Teacher to join our vibrant P-9 school in Truganina. As a key member of our Arts faculty, you will have the opportunity to ignite creativity within the Primary Drama department, working with a talented team of educators and students.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive performing arts curriculum aligned with the Australian Curriculum standards.
  2. Lesson Planning: Design lesson plans that incorporate a variety of performing arts disciplines, including music, drama, and dance.
  3. Teaching and Assessment: Teach students the fundamentals of performing arts, including theory, techniques, and practical skills. Assess student performance through observations, assignments, and practical exams and provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their skills and understanding.
  4. Performance and Events: Organise and direct school performances, concerts, and drama productions and collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate performing arts into school events and programs.
  5. Resource Management: Maintain and organise performing arts resources, including instruments, costumes, and props and manage the budget for the performing arts program and make recommendations for resource acquisition.
Requirements:
  1. Qualifications and Experience: Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia and current VIT registration. Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Primary/Secondary Art, welcoming of graduates.
  2. Skills and Abilities: Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
