Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with practical classes, ensuring all equipment and materials are ready for use.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to staff and students on laboratory and field equipment.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and operate specialist equipment, including survey instruments and analytical chemistry apparatus.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and conduct risk assessments as required.
  • Manage equipment inventories and procure consumables and replacement parts.
  • Collaborate with academic staff to develop innovative practical exercises and support research projects.
Requirements:
  • A science-based degree or experience in environmental science or geology or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical chemistry, geological and survey equipment.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support students and staff.
