**Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Underground Operations Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the underground operations team and ensuring the safe and efficient extraction of gold from our mines.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • **Lead the Underground Operations Team:** The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of underground operations personnel, including miners, engineers, and technicians.
  • **Ensure Safe Operations:** The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all underground operations are conducted in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • **Drive Results:** The candidate will be responsible for driving results and ensuring that the underground operations team meets its production targets and budget.
  • **Lead and Inspire:** The candidate will be responsible for leading and inspiring the underground operations team to achieve its goals and objectives.
  • **Cost Efficiency:** The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the forecasting, planning, and execution of underground operations to ensure cost efficiency and budget compliance.
  • **Culture of Innovation:** The candidate will be responsible for contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the underground operations team and the wider organization.

**Requirements:

  • **First Class Mine Managers Ticket:** The successful candidate must hold a First Class Mine Managers ticket and be able to hold the UGM statutory position.
  • **Proven Experience:** The candidate must have proven experience in leading underground operations, with experience in early mine production ramp-up seen as beneficial.
  • **Strong Planning and Leadership Skills:** The candidate must have strong planning, prioritization, and leadership skills.
  • **Stellar Communication and Interpersonal Skills:** The candidate must have stellar communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to collaborate seamlessly across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • **Proven Commitment to Safety:** The candidate must have a proven commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical business practices.
