Key Responsibilities- Develop Optimum Underground Mine Plans: Create detailed plans for underground development and stope designs, mining methods, equipment requirements, and recovery costs.
- Deliver Short, Medium, and Long-Term Mine Plans: Ensure consistency and continuity of the mine planning process, aligning with company goals and objectives.
- Prepare Underground Mine Development and Production Schedules: Coordinate with production teams, surveyors, geologists, drill and blast, and contractor teams to ensure timely and efficient execution of mine plans.
- Oversee Drill and Blast Plans: Provide technical input and ensure compliance with site quality control standards.
- Monitor Day-to-Day Mining Operations: Ensure adherence to agreed plans and quality control standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide Technical Input: Contribute to the development of underground mining processes, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures.
- Manage Mining Activities: Ensure production meets short and long-term planning targets, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
- Ensure Compliance: Verify that production processes adhere to site quality control standards, examining mining methods and equipment to improve performance.
- Provide Leadership: Supervise mining engineers and technical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure successful execution of mine plans.
- Undertake Project Work: Participate in project activities and mine engineering tasks as required, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve company objectives.
To be considered for this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary Qualification: A degree in mining engineering or a related field.
- Experience: At least 7 years of experience in mining operations, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in mine planning and scheduling software, with a strong understanding of underground mining processes.
- Certifications: Current Senior First Aid certification and a First Class Mine Managers Certificate.
