Role Description

As a professional plumber, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective repair and maintenance of plumbing fixtures, fittings, pipework systems, and related infrastructure across various Defence buildings and structures.

  • Carry out routine inspections to diagnose and repair plumbing issues in Defence buildings and infrastructure.
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, and water heaters.
  • Ensure all plumbing work adheres to current legislative and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on plumbing systems and pipework to prevent potential problems.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff and contractors to complete repairs and installations efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency plumbing situations.
  • Offer expert advice on material and equipment selection for plumbing repairs and installations.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff and apprentices in their development.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated with industry best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require strong technical skills, including plumbing expertise, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills. A strong understanding of health and safety protocols is also essential.
