Job Opportunity

A communications generalist is needed to create content for multiple social platforms and foster community engagement. This role will support the development and execution of social media content and assist in fostering relationships with online audiences and in-person engagement while maintaining consistent brand communication.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for communication, a keen eye for detail, and a flexible schedule to accommodate community events. They will be responsible for supporting the creation of engaging, relevant, and timely content to grow and maintain our online social media channels (Facebook, Instagram).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and publish content on social media platforms to engage our audience.
  • Design and create visually appealing posters and social media posts using design software like Canva.
  • Develop creative visuals to promote campaigns, events, and other initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to align social media efforts with broader campaigns and organizational goals.
  • Plan, design, and send email campaigns and updates to our audience.
  • Review and proofread content for social media, emails, and other communication materials.
  • Transcribe audio or video content from community meetings as needed for social media or other communication purposes.
  • Assist with organizing, promoting, and supporting community events.
  • Ensure the website and all resources are updated regularly and perform plugin/software updates as needed.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
