About the Role

The Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist is a key position within our organization, responsible for conducting comprehensive neuropsychological assessments and providing tailored intervention strategies for Aboriginal individuals (18+) who have acquired brain injuries, neurodevelopmental disorders, and/or neurocognitive disorders.

This role requires a high level of expertise in diagnostic neuropsychological assessments, case formulation, and behavioral interventions planning. The successful candidate will contribute to the professional development and clinical education of mental health clinicians, ensuring that our team is equipped to provide the highest standard of care to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough neuropsychological assessments to identify cognitive, emotional, and behavioral strengths and challenges
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to address identified needs and promote optimal functioning
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients and their families
  • Provide education and training to mental health clinicians on neuropsychological assessment and intervention strategies
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and research in neuropsychology, incorporating new knowledge and techniques into clinical practice

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or higher in Clinical Neuropsychology with full registration with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and with Clinical Neuropsychology Endorsement
  • Demonstrated experience in diagnostic neuropsychological assessments, case formulation, and behavioral interventions planning
  • Demonstrated experience in neuropsychological report writing and developing appropriate recommendations for clients, their families, and other care providers
  • Demonstrated experience in adjusting communication of neuropsychological assessment for multiple audiences, including people with limited literacy and English language skills
  • Awareness of Aboriginal culture within Australia's history, knowledge of cultural sensitivities, and current issues affecting the lives of Aboriginal people, in conjunction with a willingness to incorporate Aboriginal values into clinical practice
