Promoting Gender Equality and Inclusion

This role is responsible for driving gender equity and inclusion strategies to promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce. The position focuses on promoting positive attitudes, behaviour, and culture change to prevent family violence and all forms of violence against women.
The Gender Equity Specialist will establish processes, policy, and initiatives to drive strategic priorities related to gender equality and the elimination of family violence. This involves building trusting relationships, embracing diverse styles and voices, and influencing stakeholders to achieve organisational outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have qualifications and/or demonstrated work experience in social science, health promotion, community development, or human resource management. They will also have experience in developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating health and wellbeing projects, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans to drive gender equity and inclusion
- Experience in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Understanding of Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities, and successful working relationships with partner organisations
The successful candidate will be a self-managed individual who is comfortable working independently to build, implement, and assess the effectiveness of new ideas and concepts. They will take personal accountability for role-modelling inclusive behaviour and showing respect for diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
Key Selection Criteria:
• Qualifications and/or demonstrated work experience in social science, health promotion, community development, or human resource management
• Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating health and wellbeing projects
• Experience in developing and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion programs
• Understanding of and successful working relationships with Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities and partner organisations
