In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for the transport logistics and distribution of customer products.
  • Manage and oversee the safe day-to-day delivery of carton and ambient freight locally and interstate.
  • Oversee a team comprising 44 drivers (van and truck) and 8 operations team members from 10am to 6pm each day.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Driving a Safety First workplace culture.
  • Ensuring all elements of fleet operation are met efficiently with maximum optimisation of vehicles, drivers, and equipment.
  • Working with the planning team and allocating runs to company drivers and subcontractors.
  • Maintaining efficiency and compliance to all statutory requirements including fatigue management.
  • Ensuring outstanding customer service standards are achieved and satisfactorily managing all customer service-related inquiries.
  • Meeting all safety and operational targets in line with delivery schedules and business plans.
  • Ensuring all policies and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Continuous commitment to process improvement in liaison with key stakeholders.
  • Preparing and reporting accurate DIFOT data.

You have the following qualities and qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience in the Transport Industry in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to manage/direct drivers and loaders during the shift.
  • Experience with Route Allocation and an understanding of scheduling multi-drop deliveries.
  • Sound knowledge of South East Queensland roads and infrastructure.
  • Ability to think quickly and problem-solve in the moment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading workplace safety and compliance.
  • Capable of working through complex challenges in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in consistently delivering results and a continuous commitment to improvement.
  • Medium to high-level skills in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience implementing policies and procedures aligned with Heavy Vehicle Legislation.
