About the Opportunity

This pivotal role involves leading end-to-end procurement activities across diverse portfolios, partnering with stakeholders to deliver innovative, value-driven supply solutions. As a key member of our team, you will bring strong government procurement experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for compliance, continuous improvement, and collaborative outcomes.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Developing and managing procurement plans and documentation tailored to stakeholder needs and service objectives.
  • Leading tendering processes, requests for quotes, and panel access while ensuring compliance with council policies and legislative requirements.
  • Providing expert advice, training, and support to internal teams on procurement procedures, risk management, and best practices.
  • Monitoring and updating procurement policies and systems to reflect industry standards and regulatory changes.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to design innovative supply solutions that deliver value for money and support service delivery.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications in business administration or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in a procurement role within a government environment.
  • Proven ability to manage tender and quotation processes from preparation through to administration.
  • Strong understanding of procurement legislation, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in contract administration and supplier performance monitoring, with sound risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, deliver training, and engage effectively with stakeholders.
