Disability Support Professional Job Description

We are committed to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities, delivering a range of services and striving for individual success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support clients in accordance with their NDIS plans.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities including eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming.
  • Provide transportation support to clients.
  • Offer respite care to clients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate records of clients' care plans and progress.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed for client safety.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in the NDIS field.
Requirements:
  • High school or equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • Certificate 2 or 4 in individual support or willingness to work towards completion is highly regarded.
  • Lived experience or paid experience working with people with disabilities is essential.
  • Flexibility to work day shifts, night shifts, sleepovers, and weekends is required.
  • Strong understanding of the NDIS guidelines and its frameworks.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance.
  • Ability to work with diverse clients, acknowledging different support needs based on abilities, cultural backgrounds, and language requirements.
  • Basic care and first aid skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required.
