Research Security Expert Leader

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead our research data security initiatives and ensure the highest standards of compliance and best practice in this critical area.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in developing and implementing robust data security processes, as well as a proven track record of leading teams to achieve exceptional results. They will be responsible for collaborating with Division leadership to establish and maintain research data security policies and guidelines that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and implement data security processes that meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with researchers and other stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions to address potential security risks.
  • Lead a team of professionals to design, implement, and monitor data security controls and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of research data security policies and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities

  1. Spearheading the development and implementation of data security strategies that align with organisational goals and objectives.
  2. Maintaining awareness of emerging trends and threats in the field of data security and advising on effective countermeasures.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, information technology, cybersecurity).
  • At least 5 years of experience in data security, preferably in an academic or research environment.
