Job Title: Groundwater Hydrogeochemist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Groundwater Hydrogeochemist to join our team in Adelaide, SA. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of water security through innovative research and collaboration.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field such as groundwater hydrology or hydrogeology, with demonstrated experience in operating environmental tracer facilities and conducting original research. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research to inform decision making for water resource development, changing climatic conditions, and enhanced water security through conjunctive use of surface water and groundwater.
  • Operate the stable noble gas isotope facility and the tritium facility TRIFIN, including managing interoperability between noble gas mass spectrometers and automated sample preparation lines.
  • Integrate hydrogeochemical data with environmental tracers to develop robust conceptual hydrogeochemical models of the vadose zone, aquifers, and connected groundwater-surface systems.

Essential Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant field such as groundwater hydrology or hydrogeology.
  • Demonstrated experience in operating environmental tracer facilities.

Desirable Requirements:
