This role plays a vital part in assisting individuals with disabilities to comprehend and execute their NDIS plans. As a key member of the support team, you will be responsible for enhancing participants' capacity to manage their own supports, strengthening their informal support networks, and maximizing the value they receive from their services.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Action referrals in a timely manner to ensure seamless support delivery.
- Support participants in assessing and selecting preferred options or providers, ensuring informed decision-making.
- Negotiate services and prices with providers, focusing on cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Develop service agreements and create bookings with preferred providers, streamlining the process.
**Primary Objectives**
- To assist NDIS participants in increasing their capacity to manage and direct their own supports.
- To strengthen their informal support networks, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
- To maximize the value for money participants receive from their supports, ensuring optimal outcomes.
- To enable participants to access and utilize the NDIS Participant Portal myplace effectively.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills, enabling effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, facilitating clear and concise information exchange.
- Ability to adapt communication style to meet people's needs, ensuring inclusivity and respect.
- High level of numeracy and literacy, supporting data-driven decision-making and documentation.
