Safety and Operations Coordinator SHS and Forestry Job Description:

The primary objective of this role is to provide ongoing support to General Managers and their teams, focusing on safety and operations.

  • Establishing a 'back to basics' safety foundation at site level through daily operations, promoting improved safety performance through workforce governance, stewardship, and training.
  • Maintaining INX suite of systems, risk assessments, JSAs, VoC, training packs, compliance registers, skills matrices, needs analysis aligned with training plans, and business safety objectives.
  • Supporting incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up investigation reviews.
  • Cultivating strong working relationships with the safety and training team and operational managers to foster a safety-focused culture.
  • Assisting internal and external safety audits.
  • Compiling monthly and ad-hoc reporting based on established safety lead and lag KPIs in line with business requirements.

Safety and Operations Coordinator Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt written and oral communication style to suit different audiences.
  • Proven history of taking initiative, working in a team, and learning from others.
  • Knowledge of company policies and SHS requirements and obligations.
  • PC Literacy with intermediate level skills using Microsoft Word, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience planning and scheduling projects or programs and managing details and documentation within specified timeframes.
  • Previous experience and interest in teaching others and assisting them to learn new skills.
