About This Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Palliative Care Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team.

  • As a key member of the team, you will provide high-quality palliative care to children with life-limiting conditions, working closely with families to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • You will be responsible for establishing effective relationships with healthcare professionals, contributing to departmental meetings and training activities, and participating in education and research opportunities.

Your key responsibilities will include symptom management, liaison with community and hospital-based supports, assistance with decision-making, and psychosocial support of families. You will also be involved in providing education, developing clinical resources, and contributing to quality initiatives.

Key Requirements
  • Full registration as a medical practitioner with AHPRA is essential.
  • You must have successful completion of the FRACP Written and Clinical Examination (or equivalent).
  • Experience working in general or subspecialty paediatric medicine, or palliative medicine, is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork is vital.
About Our Department

The Victorian Paediatric Palliative Care Program is a collaborative alliance between leading healthcare providers, managed by The Royal Children's Hospital. We use a multi-disciplinary consultation-liaison model of care, providing consultation and capacity-building to health professionals across Victoria.
