Insurance Specialist

The Senior Trading Underwriter plays a crucial role in devising and implementing an effective strategy for our products.
This position involves selecting risk appetite, pricing of products, and managing financial performance to ensure the delivery of high-quality propositions to our target market.
Main Responsibilities- Developing underwriting strategies with the Underwriting Head and Senior Trading Underwriter (London) to drive growth and margin improvement.
- Creating short and medium-term financial plans with the Underwriting Head and Product Manager to achieve business objectives.
- Gathering knowledge of the market, including legal, economic, competitive, and socio-demographic factors influencing the market.
- Maintaining strong relationships with senior broker partners to build and develop the portfolio.
- Providing input on refining underwriting appetite to capitalize on market opportunities.
- Demonstrating technical expertise in the product(s), including features, market dynamics, and customer requirements.
- Satisfying the demands of senior stakeholders through gravitas and clarity of purpose.
- Applying sophisticated pricing practices and methodologies, with experience in enhancing pricing capability.
- Understanding legal, regulatory, and compliance provisions applicable to the UK motor insurance market.
- Exhibiting a clear understanding of risk management principles.
