Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Professional to join our team at Flinders Medical Centre. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, using fresh and seasonal ingredients.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Supervise and train junior staff members, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and safety.
  • Collaborate with our dietary team to develop and implement new menu ideas and specials.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety and hygiene regulations.
Requirements
  • Australian Trade Certification or Cert III in Commercial Cookery (essential)
  • Experience in high-volume catering, including bulk catering and function/banquet experience
  • Ability to commit to a 7-day rotating roster
  • Motivated, self-starter with ability to work unsupervised to a schedule
  • Ability to pass full pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing
  • COVID 19 Vaccination Certificate outlining Full Vaccination is required
  • Evidence of immunisation for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Influenza, Tetanus, Pertussis, Diptheria, Hep B, Polio
  • Flexibility to work a rotational roster; including early mornings, night shifts, weekends and public holidays
  • Current Police Clearance no older than 3 months is essential
  • Current DHS Working with Children Check (WWCC) is
