Management Accountant Job Opportunity

MARS Recruitment is partnering with a leading financial services organisation to recruit an experienced Management Accountant for a six-month fixed-term contract.

This role involves providing management accounting services, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of financial data to support high-quality management reporting and analysis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, finance or commerce, with experience in process mapping and automation. They will possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.

Responsibilities include preparing and distributing monthly financial reports, performing variance analysis, conducting regular cost analysis, and maintaining the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.

Other key responsibilities include implementing automation and process improvement opportunities, utilising financial software and tools to optimise and streamline accounting operations, and assisting in preparing audit schedules and supporting internal and external audit processes.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports highlighting key metrics and trends.
  • Perform variance analysis to compare actual results with budgets and forecasts providing insights into financial performance.
  • Conduct regular cost analysis to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
  • Develop implement and assess the effectiveness of cost-saving initiatives.
  • Maintain the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger by reviewing and reconciling accounts regularly.
  • Prepare and post journal entries ensuring they are well-documented and properly approved.
  • Identify and implement automation and process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency.
  • Utilise financial software and tools to optimise and streamline accounting operations.
  • Assist in preparing audit schedules and support both internal and external audit processes.
  • Criteria:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Finance or Commerce.
  • Experience in TM1 highly desirable.
  • Process mapping experience required.
  • Exhibits strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Possesses exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Proven experience in driving process improvements and implementing controls frameworks.
