Accounting Specialist Role

The role of an Accounting Specialist involves preparing and reviewing financial statements to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Support the monthly and annual close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Ensure the integrity of general ledger accounts and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax filings and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and analysis.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Support audits by providing required documentation and responding to queries.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls and company policies.
Requirements
  • A degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • Be studying towards or a qualified CPA or CA candidate.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting or general ledger accounting is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is necessary.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills are required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in the retail industry is highly regarded but not mandatory.
