Clinical Nurse Specialist - Ventilator Support

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide clinical care and support to patients requiring ventilator assistance.

This role is ideal for a highly skilled and autonomous nurse who can work effectively in a home environment, delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining a safe and comfortable living space.

Our team provides comprehensive multidisciplinary care across various settings, including Canberra Hospital, Community Health Centres, and the Village Creek Centre in Kambah.

As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with individuals, their carers, and other services within and external to Canberra Health Services.

The Community Care Program delivers a range of community-based technical nursing services to residents of the ACT, including wound care, continence management, stoma care, post-acute support, palliative care, and end-of-life care.

  • Strong initiative and commitment to lifelong learning as part of maintaining advanced clinical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Organizational ability and time management skills.

Key Requirements:

  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Availability for weekend and after-hours work.
  • Computer literacy skills relevant to this role, involving completing required documentation and becoming proficient in digital health records and/or other information technology systems.
