Primary Music Teacher and Coordinator Opportunity

This part-time, fixed-term role will commence in Term 3, 2025 and conclude at the end of Term 4, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a comprehensive music curriculum focusing on continuous and sequential learning.
  • Teach students to listen, compose, and perform music with increasing depth and complexity.
  • Guide students in performing, composing, and listening to build their music knowledge, skills, and understanding.
  • Help students develop the ability to recognize, create, play, and notate rhythmic and melodic components of music on both tuned and untuned instruments.

The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of the Primary Years Programme framework and be able to incorporate it into music lessons, emphasizing inquiry-based learning and whole-child development.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in education.
  • Kodaly and Orff-Schulwerk training or equivalent experience.
  • A working knowledge of music technology.
  • Established instrumental skills and a good working knowledge of a wide range of instruments.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and assessing effective curricula.
  • Experience in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.
