Procurement Specialist for Infrastructure Projects

About This Role:
We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team in Brisbane, QLD. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of infrastructure projects.
Job Summary:
In this position, you will be responsible for preparing bidders' lists, qualifying bidders, and managing post-award activities for small to medium-sized orders. You will work closely with other project functional groups to achieve project objectives and ensure compliance with purchase order requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Bid Management: Prepare bidders' lists, qualify bidders, form bid packages, and issue bid requests.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with engineering teams to assist in the preparation of material requisitions and achieve understanding needed to process these requisitions.
- Negotiation and Award: Prepare Commercial Bid Summaries and recommendations for award.
- Supplier Management: Communicate with suppliers and personnel within Bechtel to establish clear definitions of requirements and assure performance to purchase order requirements.
- Purchase Order Changes: Identify, define, and secure agreement regarding purchase order changes.
- Process Improvement: Initiate and process purchase order revisions that establish scope and effects on cost and schedule of agreed-upon changes.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in buying activities prequalification, tender, and award of small to medium-sized orders.
- Demonstrated skills in working and communicating effectively with other project functional groups.
