Procurement and Contract Management Expert for Major Projects

Top day rate position in a hybrid work arrangement.
This role is an integral part of the Major Projects team at a key transport infrastructure asset owner, delivering numerous projects in Queensland over the next decade. As Procurement & Contracts Specialist, you will collaborate with senior managers to provide expert advice on procurement and contract management to the Major Projects Senior Leadership team.
The successful candidate will work in a small team alongside the Procurement & Contract Management Manager within Program Services, managing the procurement process and leading contract administration activities across multiple contracts.
Flexibility to work from home, with some time required in the Brisbane CBD office.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all stakeholder aspects of procurement and contract management, including pre-tender issues, scope changes, tender evaluation, approval, and contracting.
- Lead negotiations and navigate governance obligations effectively.
- Play a key role in supplier management, ensuring optimal commercial outcomes, resolving contract disputes, and chairing contract meetings.
- Oversee the supplier performance review process.
- Assist in developing best practice frameworks, governance policies, standards, and work procedures across procurement and contract management.
- Identify areas for improvement within procurement and contract management frameworks to develop strategies for enhancement.
We are seeking a seasoned professional with:
- Specialised experience in Procurement and Contract Management, preferably in major infrastructure projects with a focus on consultancy/professional services.
- Extensive knowledge of procurement and contracts legislation and contractual requirements in a commercial environment.
- High-level skills in developing and managing strategic relationships with vendors.
- Experience in dealing with large-scale commercial contract matters.
- Influencing, consultation, relationship building, and negotiation skills.
- Experience in developing and implementing best practice procurement and contract management frameworks, governance, and methodologies.
