RPS Group is seeking a seasoned Principal Planning Consultant to enhance our Planning division on a permanent full-time basis.

With a broad spectrum of clients spanning various sectors and regions, your daily responsibilities will encompass diverse projects and collaboration with a variety of professionals.
This position is client-facing, allowing you to serve as the primary liaison, interacting directly with project teams, government entities, and other significant stakeholders. You will also have the chance to mentor junior colleagues.
You will be integrated into our national Place and Environment Team, a multidisciplinary group that includes urban planning, landscape architecture, surveying, and urban design. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with our advisory and project management teams. We offer flexible working arrangements to all employees.
Key Responsibilities
Assessing the development potential of various sites and providing comprehensive due diligence advice; Drafting development applications for a wide array of project types and locations; Engaging with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies on development and planning matters; Supporting other related planning services, including strategic guidance, policy evaluation, and necessary approvals; and Assisting clients in executing approved outcomes.Qualifications for Success
A Bachelor’s degree in Planning or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA). A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in the private sector. A solid understanding of the Queensland planning framework. Exceptional writing skills. Proven ability to deliver projects on schedule and to a high standard. A strong commitment to client service, teamwork, and a passion for influencing planning outcomes.Benefits Offered
