Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Theatre Technician to lead technical teams in delivering high-quality live events, exhibitions, and community activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical teams to deliver live events to the highest industry standards.
  • Act as Technical Duty Supervisor during productions and events.
  • Carry out a broad range of technical duties, including design, vision, staging, and set construction.
  • Provide technical documentation and ensure the correct setup, operation, and maintenance of all equipment and systems.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by coordinating WHS practices and participating in training and inductions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, community clients, and artists to deliver an exceptional visitor and artist experience.

Essential Skills:

  • A strong commitment to excellence in customer service.
  • Confident supervising others and making sound decisions under pressure.
  • Solid knowledge of current theatre equipment, systems, and practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and multi-disciplinary team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate 3 in Live Production and Technical Services or suitable entertainment industry experience or trade or tertiary qualification.
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence.

Additional Requirements:

  • Availability to work as required, including evenings and weekends.
  • Appointment is subject to a satisfactory criminal history check.
  • Legal right to work in Australia.
