About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our team at Laing O'Rourke. The ideal candidate will have experience in defence projects and a strong background in commercial management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fulfilling the requirements of the commercial function, including optimizing margin while protecting the business.
  • Leading all Pre-Contract commercial activities on a complex project or range of projects.
  • Working closely with project and commercial leaders to provide strategic commercial direction in the management of project goals.
  • Assisting with implementing and managing the procurement plan to support project schedules, while selecting and preparing the standard forms of supply chain agreements.
  • Managing contractual disputes and risk mitigation.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely, weekly and monthly reporting and forecasting of project costs.
About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Commercial Law, Quantity Surveying, or Engineering.
  • Experience working on major construction projects, including projects in the defence sector.
  • Results-driven with a collaborative leadership approach and a high level of technical and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
