We are seeking a Commercial Manager to join our team at Laing O'Rourke. The ideal candidate will have experience in defence projects and a strong understanding of commercial functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fulfill the requirements of the commercial function, including optimizing margin while protecting the business.
  • Lead all Pre-Contract commercial activities on a complex project or range of projects.
  • Work closely with project and commercial leaders to provide strategic commercial direction in the management of project goals.
  • Assist with implementing and managing the procurement plan to support project schedules, while selecting and preparing the standard forms of supply chain agreements.
  • Manage contractual disputes and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely, weekly and monthly reporting and forecasting of project costs.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Commercial Law, Quantity Surveying, or Engineering.
  • Experience working on major construction projects, including projects in the defence sector.
  • Results-driven and possess a collaborative leadership approach with an ability to demonstrate a high level of technical and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
