About the Role
The University of Melbourne's Faculty of Education is seeking a Research Assistant to support the implementation of its Sustainability Action Plan. This is a casual position, working from September to December 2024, with the goal of laying the groundwork for a more environmentally sustainable Faculty.
The successful candidate will focus on one or both of the following areas:
- Developing a Learning on Country educational component within the Faculty's offerings, requiring experience with Learning on Country and Indigenous knowledge.
- Creating resources and supports to facilitate impactful sustainability research, including processes and guidelines for reducing research-related 'Scope 3 emissions' such as air travel.
- Supporting other activities to advance sustainability across all pillars in the Faculty, in alignment with the Sustainability Action Plan.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the planning and execution of Sustainability Action Plan activities.
- Conducting reviews of relevant material, where applicable.
- Assisting with monitoring and reporting of activities.
- Attending meetings and briefings as required.
- Liaising with supervisor(s).
Requirements
You will have a Honours or Master level qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent relevant academic or professional or practice-based experience and expertise. You will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge about sustainability and/or Learning on Country experience, and the ability to manage research-related administrative tasks efficiently and accurately.
