Research Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our dynamic team at the Brain Cancer Centre at The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. The successful candidate will be a key member of the lab, responsible for administration, database management, project management, and assisting in the planning and execution of research projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular and cellular biology, with experience in primary cell work, aseptic technique, and general cell biology. They will also possess strong organisational and time management skills, excellent attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The Research Assistant will work closely with the team to carry out the day-to-day operations of the Jenkins Laboratory and support general research group activities. They will also have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing research projects, including CAR T cell therapy and other novel therapeutic approaches for brain cancer.

This is a full-time position for 2 years, with a salary of Research Support Employee Level 5 - 6 ($79,629 - $99,979). Up to 17% superannuation and attractive salary packaging options are available.
