About the Role

The University of Melbourne is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences. The successful candidate will work on a project funded by the Tiny Blue Dot Foundation, focusing on the neural mechanisms underlying psychosis across different stages of illness.

This role involves extensive use of brain imaging techniques such as OP-MEG and fMRI, as well as computational modeling, while engaging with individuals with schizophrenia and those at risk. The fellow will collaborate with leading researchers, oversee student projects, and contribute to data analysis and manuscript writing, all while upholding the School's values and policies.

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist and coordinate the computational modeling components of the research project.
  • Assist and coordinate the preparation of ethics applications and related research protocols.
  • Assist and coordinate data collection activities, preparation of data collection materials, and recruitment of participants.
  • Train research staff, including research assistants and students, on relevant operational and data collection activities.

Who We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will have a strong background in computational modeling and brain imaging data analysis, particularly with M/EEG and MRI, alongside experience in working with Schizophrenia/Psychosis data, and demonstrated effective supervision of honours and PhD students.

They will demonstrate high independence and flexibility in responding to changing priorities, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration, and show a desire to build a career in cognitive neuroscience.
