Manufacturing Process Improvement Specialist

As a Manufacturing Process Improvement Specialist, you will play a critical role in optimizing our production operations by designing and conducting research programs to enhance manufacturing efficiency.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering to drive innovation and efficiency across our operations.

You will be responsible for evaluating production activities through data analysis, identifying opportunities for improvements in productivity, material flow, safety, quality, and cost. You will prioritize actions to be taken, establish schedules for completion, and implement the necessary measures to realize savings.

  • Evaluate production activities through data analysis to identify opportunities for improvements in productivity, material flow, safety, quality, and cost.
  • Responsible for the implementation of key elements of Lean, such as Standardized Work Instructions, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen/5S.
  • Conduct time studies and audits as appropriate to validate and adjust labor estimates to reflect actual costs.
  • Work with vendors in determining product specifications and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications.
  • Facilitate and/or lead cross-functional teams with Engineering, Production, and Estimating in support of driving efficiencies and eliminating non-value-added activities.
  • Collaborate with design engineering in concurrent engineering efforts to ensure manufacturability. Proactively identify opportunities for improved manufacturability and coordinate implementation with design engineering and operations personnel.

Our ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of experience in manufacturing/industrial engineering, a BS/MS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, and LEAN/Six Sigma Green Belt certification. They will also have proficiency in SolidWorks & AutoCAD, good understanding of and experience in implementing LEAN initiatives, and relevant experience in a make-to-order/engineer-to-order project environment.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering

• LEAN/Six Sigma Green Belt certification

• Proficiency in SolidWorks & AutoCAD

• Good understanding of and experience in implementing LEAN initiatives
