At National Patient Transport Group, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Patient Transport Officer.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality patient care and has excellent communication skills.

As a Patient Transport Officer, you will be responsible for delivering timely, safe, and efficient patient transport services. You will need to have flexibility to work shift work including mornings, nights, and weekends, as well as a willingness to work between all three locations on occasion.

Our comprehensive induction program and commitment to continuing professional development ensure that our staff remain up-to-date with the latest standards of care. Our Registered Training Organisation, NPT HEART, provides valuable support in this regard.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing clinical handovers for all transfers
  • Delivering high-quality patient care in a timely, safe, and efficient manner
  • Complying with clinical and operational policies and procedures as specified in patient transport regulations and protocols
  • Maintaining thorough working knowledge of applicable current standards of care, including equipment functions and uses
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Safe driving of patient transport vehicles in accordance with respective road laws across Victoria

The successful applicant will need to possess:

  • A Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport or Certificate IV in Health Care; or Division 2 Registered Nurse, Ambulance Community Officers (we will provide a NEPT Bridging Course for successful applicants)
  • A current full driver's licence and good driving record
  • A current National Police Check and Working with Children Check
  • The ability to work professionally as part of a team with effective communication and excellent interpersonal skills
