The Role

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our Member Services Team based in Victoria. The successful candidate will provide critical support and assistance to members, comprised of corporate, government, and not-for-profit organisations, to increase their levels of business activity with Indigenous businesses.

As a key point of connection between member organisations and Indigenous suppliers, you will be responsible for:

  • Championing cultural values and integrity within the organisation, suppliers, and members;
  • Respecting and embedding cultural practices and knowledge as Business As Usual (BAU);
  • Developing and implementing initiatives to grow the organisation's Indigenous workforce;
  • Supporting members in achieving their Supplier Diversity objectives through training, mentorship, knowledge, best practice, and relevant tools and systems;
  • BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH KEY MEMBER CONTACTS AND STAKEHOLDERS;
  • Representing the organisation in meetings and events with various stakeholders;
  • Establishing value as a supplier diversity expert with our members;
  • Acquisition, initiation, onboarding, and retention of members;
  • Providing matching services to introduce relevant Indigenous businesses to members;
  • Following Account Management Model processes and procedures;
  • Establishing relationships with potential and current partner organisations in your region;
  • Collaborating with government and corporate stakeholders and partner organisations to increase Indigenous business capacity;
  • Maintaining information accuracy and completeness in our customer relationship management system;
  • Completing project work and other duties identified and agreed upon with your manager;
  • Ensuring a clean and safe working environment while adhering to all safety policies and procedures;
  • Participating in workplace consultative meetings and recommending improvements to relevant workplace health and safety practices.

Your Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures, as well as the issues impacting Indigenous Australians in business;
  • Experience working with large corporate organisations and knowledge of government Indigenous procurement policies;
  • Ability to interact with all business levels from C-suite to operations;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of small to medium-sized enterprise;
  • Digital competence in tools including Salesforce and Microsoft Office applications;
  • High-level oral and written communication, analytical, and liaison skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in building strong internal and external working relationships;
  • Strong administrative and communication skills, including effective time management and prioritisation;
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills demonstrating positive approach to customer service and managing expectations;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of different business models and company structures.
