ERM is seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant to join our Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change team in Sydney/Melbourne. We welcome candidates with strong technical and generalist skills to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage client relationships and projects to deliver exceptional results;
  • Build strong relationships with clients and business partners;
  • Apply strategic thinking to influence decision-makers and outcomes;
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent writing and presentation skills, and impactful client communication;
  • Manage service teams on opportunities, proposals, projects, and marketing activities.

Teamwork and Organization:

  • Be a role model and mentor junior staff;
  • Contribute to partnerships and relationships with clients, external stakeholders, and key opinion leaders;

Technical Climate Change Skills:

  • Understand carbon accounting fundamentals;
  • Have expertise in decarbonisation technologies, including energy efficiency, renewables, storage, electric vehicles, land use/sequestration, and industrial processes;
  • Develop carbon inventories, emissions projections, and calculate emissions abatement from specific decarbonisation opportunities;
  • Assess physical and transitional climate risk and opportunity methods (including scenario analysis).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, economics, engineering, or similar discipline;
  • 5+ years of professional experience;
  • 2+ years of consulting experience;
  • Understanding of current trends in renewable energy, decarbonization strategies/Net Zero planning, and Low Carbon Economy Transition;
  • Ability to work independently, strong organization, and time-management skills;
  • Attention to detail and commitment to deliver high-quality work products;
  • Personal resilience and flexibility to navigate through ambiguity and conflicting priorities while delivering results under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Climate Active Registration;
  • Prior LCA experience;
  • Prior project management experience in consulting;
  • Experience in climate risk assessment and scenario analysis.
