Job Summary:

This is an opportunity to showcase your cost management expertise and contribute to the success of our Canberra office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain detailed cost plans for various stages of construction projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client objectives.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and value engineering exercises to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
  • Prepare and analyze tender documentation, including bills of quantities and schedules of rates.
  • Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to ensure best value for clients.
  • Monitor and report on project costs, including cash flow forecasting and cost-to-complete analyses.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other consultants to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • A recognized degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a similar field.
  • At least 3-10 years of experience in cost management roles, preferably in a consultancy environment.
  • Previous experience working on construction projects for government agencies such as the Department of Education, Defence, and Health is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and prepare detailed cost reports.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian construction standards, building codes, and regulations.
  • Proven track record of delivering accurate cost plans and budgets for large-scale projects.
