Senior Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to assist in planning and managing civil projects in accordance with our Project Management Framework and industry best practices.

  • Lead, Manage and Coordinate: Deliver assigned capital works projects from commencement to completion, including complex, multiple and concurrent projects.
  • Stakeholder Partnerships: Manage partnerships, engagement, negotiations and approvals throughout the project life cycle.
  • Quality Service Delivery: Provide high quality service to internal and external customers through Project and Asset Management excellence.
  • Project Management Framework: Champion the use of the Project Management Framework on assigned projects.
  • Innovative Value Management: Identify, lead and implement innovative project value management resulting in cost effective and solution based outcomes.
  • Support and Assistance: Provide support and assistance to the Coordinator Project Delivery Civil in achieving department commitments.
  • Customer Reference Management: Assist in investigating and responding to customer reference management queries in accordance with Council policies.
">About You

To succeed as a Senior Project Manager you will require:

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Architecture or other related disciplines.
  • Extensive experience within project management including design, construction and contractor management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex and concurrent projects.
  • Solid understanding of best practice contracting and tendering processes, Australian construction standards, codes of practice and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders in a complex public sector environment.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge, skills and experience with managing and implementing the duties and responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Advance level of computer proficiency including Project Management tools and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently on multiple construction and work sites.
