Job Opportunity: Home Purchase Program Officer

A new role has been created to oversee the Renter Home Purchase Program (RHPP), supporting pathways towards Aboriginal home ownership and building long-term stability, creating intergenerational wealth, and strengthening community connection.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the RHPP pilot and engaging with the Victorian Aboriginal Community
  • Developing potential Rent to Buy schemes and providing non-financial advice and guidance to the community
  • Assessing EOI's made through the scheme and making recommendations on approval for purchase
  • Supporting the development of an evaluation at the end of the Pilot to determine ongoing feasibility of the program

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures
  • Experience in developing corporate and operational policies, program procedures, and manuals
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills, including collaboration with teams and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • Some knowledge of the roles of the community housing and property sector
  • Highly organised with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
