Fire Fighter Role

This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a Fire Fighter in a semi-rural Aviation Fire and Rescue operations located at RAAF Base Gingin in WA.

The successful candidate will be required to respond to incidents as directed by the Station Officer and Leading Firefighter, performing duties such as fire fighting and emergency operations. The role may involve working shift work including day, night weekends and public holidays, with the position permanently placed on a roster pattern of Monday to Thursday: 0800 – 1700hrs and Friday: 0800 – 1500hrs.

About You

To be eligible for this role, you will need to meet certain mandatory requirements including:

  • PUA20613 Certificate II in Public Safety (Fire-fighting and Emergency Operations)
  • PUA30613 Certificate III in Public Safety (Fire-fighting and Emergency Operation)

In addition, specific units from within the Certificate levels are required including PUAFIR305B Respond to Aviation Incidents (General), PUAFIR205B Respond to Aviation Incidents (Specialist) and others. You must also have a valid Driver's Licence (MR & HR) and possess HLTAID003 Provide First Aid, HLTAID006 Provide Advanced First Aid and HLTAID007 Provide Advanced Resuscitation qualifications.

Other Special Conditions

As part of this role, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance up to a level of negative vetting 1 (secret). This requires you to be an Australian Citizen. Additionally, you must be able to pass an ARRFF pre-employment medical assessment.
