Firefighter RAAF Base Gingin

About the role:
Our Rescue & Fire Fighting (RFF) services currently extend from stations in WA, SA, VIC, NSW and QLD. Due to the evolving nature of this contract, we are currently employing a Firefighter for our semi-rural Aviation Fire and Rescue operations located at RAAF Base Gingin in WA.
The successful Firefighter will respond to incidents as required and perform duties as directed by the Station Officer and Leading Firefighter.
Whilst you may be required to work shift work which includes day, night weekends and public holidays the position we are seeking is permanently placed on the following roster pattern.

Duration of shifts are as follows:
Monday to Thursday - 0800 – 1700hrs
Friday - 0800 – 1500hrs

About you:

To be eligible to apply for this role, you will be asked to provide evidence of the following after your application:

Mandatory requirements:

• PUA20613 Certificate II in Public Safety (Fire-fighting and Emergency Operations)
• PUA30613 Certificate III in Public Safety (Fire-fighting and Emergency Operation)

Ventia require specific units from within the Certificate levels including the following Public Safety Aviation Units:

• PUAFIR305B Respond to Aviation Incidents (General) and
• PUAFIR205B Respond to Aviation Incidents (Specialist)
• PUAFIR209B Work safely around aircraft
• Driver's Licence (MR & HR)
• HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
• HLTAID006 Provide Advanced First Aid
• HLTAID007 Provide Advanced Resuscitation

Other special conditions

• Eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance up to a level of negative vetting 1 (secret) As a result of this requirement the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen
• Ability to successfully pass an ARRFF pre-employment medical
