Position Overview

We are in search of a dedicated and intellectually curious law graduate to become a vital part of our practice, guided by Partner David Lee, a distinguished figure in the fields of insurance and litigation.

This unique opportunity allows the successful candidate to work closely with senior legal professionals on significant, high-stakes, multi-party, and/or cross-border litigation cases. The role will involve managing the defense of intricate public liability claims associated with personal injury and property damage.

As part of a diverse practice, you will frequently collaborate with our colleagues in London. Key Responsibilities

Under the direct mentorship of qualified attorneys and Partners, you will be expected to undertake a variety of tasks, including:

  • Participating in client meetings and teleconferences;
  • Contributing to matter planning discussions;
  • Preparing detailed notes, memoranda, and summaries of internal discussions and client interactions;
  • Assisting in the organization and upkeep of client files;
  • Drafting, analyzing, and interpreting various legal documents;
  • Composing correspondence and emails to clients and other stakeholders as directed;
  • Preparing court documents;
  • Filing court documents;
  • Assisting in the creation of witness statements and proposed affidavits for court proceedings;
  • Conducting research and preparing summary memoranda;
  • Coordinating with and supporting barristers (including preparing Briefs to Counsel);
  • Staying informed about legal developments in your area of practice and contributing to internal educational sessions;
  • Supporting business development initiatives, which may include writing articles on relevant industry updates, preparing client presentations, assisting in the preparation of capability statements and tender information, and participating in client events.

Clyde & Co expects its Law Graduates/Junior Associates to demonstrate and achieve competencies in technical proficiency, teamwork, client relations, financial and practice management, and personal effectiveness.
