Job Description

This is a 12 month fixed term contract Full Time position to cover maternity leave.

CatholicCare's Intensive Therapeutic Care services support children and young people in our care who have experienced trauma and neglect.

The Therapeutic Supported Independent Living program helps young people make the transition from a care environment into independent living and self-reliance.

You will be supervising and coordinating a care team in this program, focusing on recovery from trauma, positive life outcomes, and placement options for children and young people.


About the Role

As TSIL Supervisor, you will oversee the transition of accepted young people into the program, conduct risk assessments, manage tenancy agreements, and oversee the Living Skills Program.

You will work closely with the care team, including a therapeutic specialist, intake and assessment worker, and case manager.

Your focus will be on strengths-based solutions-focused supervision, reflective practice, self-care, performance, and achievement of outcomes.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to your team.
  • Rostering, house budgets, accounts, safeguarding, risk, WHS, and reporting and documentation.
  • Develop a collaborative and accountable team through focus on strengths-based solutions-focused supervision.

Requirements

You will need:

  • Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Social Welfare, including electives on trauma.
  • Relevant Diploma and Graduate Certificate or significant training in Developmental Trauma, Statutory Child Protection, or Client Intervention and Case Management.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with high risk or vulnerable children and young people in an out of home care environment.
  • Strong background in leading a small team using contemporary approaches.
