Operations Controller Job

This is a key role within the organization, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at our depot.

  • Supports operational activities such as service delivery, compliance monitoring, driver liaison, rostering, and reporting.

The Operations Controller works closely with Depot Managers to implement business plans and strategic objectives for the site. They also assist in coordinating and executing school runs, route services, special events, and charter operations.

Key responsibilities include building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, with a focus on delivering high-quality service and performance.

Additionally, the Operations Controller manages daily staff resource allocations, including maintaining driver rosters via Coach Manager.

They are expected to support cost-effective staffing strategies in collaboration with management.

Requirements
  • Previous experience in transport, logistics, or operations is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
  • A minimum MR (Medium Rigid) Driver's Licence is required.
  • A current PTD (Passenger Transport Driver) accreditation and Working with Children Check, or the willingness to obtain them.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A strong customer service focus and excellent communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer literacy, with the ability to navigate integrated software systems (experience with TIMS is highly regarded).
