**Antibody Engineering Specialist**

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and drive the development of protein-based therapeutics, leveraging expertise in antibody engineering and structural biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, engineering, and developing novel therapeutic antibodies, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute antibody engineering strategies to create novel candidates.
  • Collaborate with domain specialists to apply structural biology principles to enhance antibody design and optimisation.
  • Oversee workflows for mammalian expression, purification, and biophysical analysis, ensuring efficient and high-quality results.
  • Interpret and integrate biochemical, biophysical, and structural data to inform engineering decisions.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to the training of students, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and innovation.
Requirements
  • PhD in protein engineering, structural biology, biochemistry, or related field.
  • Proven industry experience in therapeutic antibody or biologics development, with a focus on antibody engineering.
  • Demonstrated expertise in applying structural biology concepts to protein design, with a track record of successful collaboration with structural specialists.
  • Strong proficiency in protein expression (mammalian systems preferred), purification, and biophysical characterisation.
  • Familiarity with modern analytical techniques and software tools, including chromatography, mass spectrometry, and X-ray crystallography.
