Job Title: Distribution Centre Manager

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to oversee the operation of our Townsville Distribution Centre (DC). As Distribution Centre Manager, you will be responsible for leading a small team, overseeing both on-site and off-site operations, and championing safety as a core value across the site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead safety initiatives, including yard and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with COR standards, load restraint regulations, and MHE safety protocols.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve cost, KPI, and service metrics.
  • Oversight of productivity, service levels, and cost reductions.
  • Coach, develop, and lead a small agile team to drive performance.
  • Foster a positive, learning-oriented culture within the DC.
  • Handle customer inquiries and sales calls.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and 3PL transport providers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver operational and customer outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, inventory accuracy, and warehouse efficiency.
  • Manage reporting, capital projects, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

About You

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Distribution environment, running a distribution centre in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to manage both inbound and outbound logistics, reporting, compliance, and project management of improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with WMS systems (SAP/ERP) and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of 5S lean management, COR, and load restraint regulations.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience coaching and mentoring others.
  • Highly effective planning and organisation skills, with strong time management and coordination skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to make quick decisions and build stakeholder and customer relationships.
  • Ability to work autonomously as part of a team, with a collaborative style.
  • Thriving in a fast-paced environment, with a proactive solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Must have a driver's licence and forklift licence to meet the requirements of the role.
