We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Water Resources Engineering Specialist to join our team in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will be responsible for leading technical delivery of various projects across water resources, flood risk and resilience, stormwater design, and sustainable stormwater.
Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate will have between 8-20 years of experience in water resources engineering, specifically floodplain management. They will also possess strong knowledge of TUFLOW 1D/2D modelling and have experience leading/contributing to flood studies and flood risk management study and plans (FRMS&P). Additionally, they will be able to provide technical input into flood risk management projects and prepare concise and clear technical reports.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake and oversee hydrologic and hydraulic modelling of creeks, rivers, stormwater systems, and overland flow paths
- Lead/contribute to flood studies and FRMS&P
- Provide technical input into flood risk management projects and prepare technical reports
- Design water management systems that interface both surface and pipe networks
- Prepare expressions of interest and proposals and carry out other appropriate marketing initiatives
The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline
- Between 8-20 years of experience in water resources engineering, specifically floodplain management
- Strong knowledge of TUFLOW 1D/2D modelling
- Experience leading/contributing to flood studies and FRMS&P
- Ability to prioritise tasks and multi-task to ensure deadlines are achieved
